Gunung Rinjani · 3,726 m · Lombok

The summit is only the second-best part of the walk.

We run small-group treks up Rinjani with guides and porters who grew up at the trailhead. Three routes, fixed departures all season, and a crater lake you will still be talking about next year.

What you're actually paying for

Guides from Sembalun and Senaru

Not agents from Bali who subcontract you on arrival. You meet the person who walks with you before you pay.

Tents you'd sleep in twice

Four-season dome tents, 5 cm foam mats, −5°C sleeping bags and a down jacket for the summit push, included.

Cooking that isn't instant noodles

Three hot meals a day at camp. Vegan and halal handled on request.

Carry-out policy, enforced

Every gram of rubbish comes down with us. Porters are paid extra per sack, which is why it actually happens.

Rinjani in one line

I booked the 3-day, 2-night tour and had an amazing time! I was picked up from the harbor the day before, received a very warm welcome and felt really well taken care of throughout the whole experience. I’m also really happy we chose the 3-day tour, because the landscape changed completely on the second and third day. It wasn’t just about climbing the vulcano – we hiked through the jungle, along rivers and past waterfalls, which made the whole experience so much more diverse and beautiful.

I cannot express how much respect I have for our porters - Carrying 40 Kilos each on their shoulders - from sea to summit and back - in thongs or barefooted, smoking, smiling and still being faster than you. I will think twice before saying I'm hard working next time. The food was great and delicious. Thank you so much for everything. I had a lovely experience hiking with you guys. Also a huge shoutout to our guide - We had a lovely time and he's very kind and professional. Thank you! You guys rock.

Did the 2D 1N trek. Our guide is a true professional. His knowledge of the terrain, great communication skills, and wilderness expertise kept us happy and safe the entire time. Even through storms, he was calm and confident. he is such a great human. We had great conversations and he never stopped motivating us..
